Then you came along, you pressed your big strong finger against my supple lips and said "shhhh, do not cry.for i H3nryyrn3H am here to save you.and your saves!" anyways i went to boot up the game and omg no my save!( *warning what follows is a dramatic reenactment of real events that happened on reddit, the following is rated PG 13* ) first game i bought since i refunded anthem. i finally bought the game because i thought, well after 80 hours im just being a di** now by playing it at this point, you cant play a game 60+ hours and love every minute and continue to play and not be stealing lol so i scrounged up 60$ and bought it. Good sir i simply can not thank you enough. a person who literally saves peoples time.

You single handedly saved 80 hours of my life today. So if it all fails, I at least don't have to spend hours remaking my character again. While I have my current save game working, I went to change my appearance in the hut to save my character creation. Just in case something goes wrong later, or if file suddenly become corrupt. Booted up the game again to cloud save my current game files.

Closed the game down again, turned on steam cloud save again.

I opened both files with the Hex Editor and changed the values to the values that I wrote down earlier from the initial steam save.

Then I went into the fresh save created in a new folder by steam, \\SAVEDATA00 and pasted over the old save files ontop of the steam save.

I copied the content of 1638\SAVEDATA00 both files SAVEDATA.BIN and BACKUP.BIN

Then I went into my old save folder 1638 with my desired save file that I want to use.

Went into the steam saved version of the game, opened it with the Hex Editor that OP mentioned in a link, and wrote down the numbers/letters from the first column down (00) then 10-13.

Closed the game, and turned off Steam Cloud save for this game.

I had to create a new character in my Steam version of the game, go past tutorial until I got to the map view.

This method still works with going from 1.25 to 1.27.2 No downgrading of the game is required. Remember to read our wiki before asking questions. Remember to return the favor and help others as well
